This mega “Wow!” comes courtesy of my internet buddy Nessa (thank you!) who kindly shared the link from Les Arts Decoratif. The museum has dated it c. 1867, but from the side view it looks more like 1870 to me since it is clearly cut for a bustle and not an elliptical hoop. No matter – it’s drop dead gorgeous.
